Graduation Day, Anstee Bridge, Kingston
Anstee Bridge, a referral agent for BELS’ projects, completed the JEDI programme and held their annual Graduation Day for their students. BELS hosted a variety of personal development and employability skills workshops at Anstee Bridge and had organised for the students to participate in work experience at Hook Recording Studios.
The students created a soundtrack and filmed a “Keeping Safe In Kingston” DVD, aimed at raising awareness when out and about in the busy town. The students also undertook a BELS’ 'Futures Scavenger Hunt', an exercise in Creative Thinking where they had to bring back evidence of the past and the future in Kingston. 'It was really different.' , said Nathan. 'I liked being creative and learning outdoors.', commented Emma. The ceremony took place at Anstee Bridge Campus and was well attended, with the Mayor of Kingston, Chrissie Hitchcock, being the guest of honour.
