Funding
Business and Education London South (BELS) has been supporting young people aged 14 to 24 into employment, work experience, training or further education since 2001. During this time we have been the lead partner on a number of projects which have received funding from a range of funders, including the London South Learning & Skills Council (LSLSC), the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) the London Development Agency (LDA) and the Office for the Third Sector.
We are currently:
- A provider for the 'Youth Contract', which is funded by the Education Funding Agency and the European Social Fund (ESF) through a London-wide consortium led by Prevista. The project is a unique opportunity to provide free additional resources to help young people aged 16-17 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) progress into employment with training or further education or training. Area covered by BELS: Croydon and Sutton.
- Delivering a project called 'Transition', funded by the Skills Funding Agency and the ESF through a South West London Consortium led by Wandsworth Borough Council. The project provides a package of support to help young people age 16-19 who are NEET progress into employment with training, employment or further education or training. Area covered by BELS: mainly Croydon.
- Working with schools on a project aimed at realising ambitions though education and development. The project is funded by the Greater London Authority and the ESF through a London Consortium led by Prevista. The project is helping to support young people in School who are at risk of becoming NEET.
