Merton LA aim to improve the life chances of all local children and young people. We do this by making sure that they receive the quality of service they need to live healthily and happily with their families. We also help them to reach their potential at school and give them opportunities to play and participate in the communities and neighbourhoods where they live.
We work to help all children and young people in Merton to achieve the five national outcomes which the Government identified after consulting young people across the country:
- Grow up healthy, enjoying good physical and mental health and live healthy lifestyles
- Stay safe, protected from harm and neglect
- Enjoy life and achieve the most out of school, developing the skills for adulthood
- Make a positive contribution, are involved with the community and society and not engaging in anti-social or offending behaviour
- Enjoy economic well-being, not being prevented by economic disadvantage from achieving their full potential in life
