LDA Funding Secured
BELS and our partners are delighted to have been given the opportunity (subject to negotiations) to work with the London Development Agency on the Supported Employment element of this years funding round.
The Creating Positive Futures Programme will be a fantastic opportunity for young people in South London to develop their skills, knowledge and aspirations as they prepare for the world of work.
Our young people will be guided and supported throughout the entire programme from the initial stages right through to 6 months of their employment.
What they can expect:
- Tailored employability training provided by experienced trainers and experts in each field
- Individualised job matching, tailored to the needs and long term goals of our young people
- Mentoring from volunteers with senior management experience and know how
- Job Coaches to support and guide both employee and employer
- Work taster days
- Experienced and approachable Personal Advisors
- Accessible and professional training facilities
- Support and specialist equipment for those requiring these services
This programme is vitally important, especially now. Over the last year we have seen unemployment among young people rise by over 119,000 nationally. Competition for employment is staggering with employers receiving overwhelming responses to job vacancies. In addition Colleges are also overwhelmed with applications for courses.
BELS will use its experience working with local, regional and national businesses and organisations to provide comprehensive and varied roles for our participants.
BELS have provided a number of similar programmes over the last 8 years, working with thousands of young people across South London. We have continually adapted and enhanced our work to represent our young peoples ever changing needs and aspirations and at the same time kept our work inline with the needs and requirements of the businesses we work with.
Information for young people and referral agencies on how to get involved in this exciting programme will be available soon.
