Bizwise

The Bizwise project is managed by Business & Education in London South and co-financed by the London South Learning & Skills Council (LSLSC) and European Social Fund (ESF). The project is designed to work with 16 – 19 year olds across the South London area. The main aim of the project is to raise the aspirations, self-confidence and self esteem of 300 or more young people who are educationally disadvantaged. This is being accomplished by engaging beneficiaries in a series of employability-linked workshops and offering work experience opportunities that will contribute towards the successful completion of an NVQ 1 qualification or its equivalent.

To date, the project has engaged pupils from over 12 schools and colleges across South London. Over 300 pupils have already completed workshops in areas such as:

  • Mock Interviews
  • CV Writing
  • Human Resources
  • Interview Techniques
  • Job Applications

In addition, over 100 pupils have now completed their work experience aspect of the programme. We are now awaiting the outcome of the NVQ 1 exams that were taken at the end of March 2007. These exam results will become available in July. The project is scheduled for completion on 30th September 2007.
