Libby began her career as a journalist, and then enrolled as a mature student at the University of East Anglia, graduating in 1990.

She spent the next five years working there and doing part-time epidemiological research.

She has worked in the not-for-profit sector for 15 years, mostly in development, marketing and communications roles.
