Maryse Roberts
Maryse worked for 9 years as Programme Adviser for the London-based Commonwealth Secretariat, an inter-governmental organisation of 53-member states. Her work ranged from policy advice and programme coordination relating to gender equality, good governance and development issues, contributing towards the development of a gender equality and development policy and action programme for the Commonwealth (2005-2015) in partnership with member governments and key UN agencies and regional agencies.
She has extensive experience working on national development and foreign affairs programmes in the small African island state of Seychelles. She held posts of Alternate Governor to the African Development Bank, Director of Bilateral Affairs and Head of the Gender Unit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Planning and Environment. Besides her BA in geography, she holds a MSc in Social Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences. She is presently working in the property sector as well as undertaking social policy and development consultancies.
Maryse is committed to social justice, development and gender equity in the public, private and civil society sectors.
