EDUCATION WELFARE
Without the right support, school attendance can be a difficult issue to address.
BELS provides Education Welfare Officer support and intervention to improve whole school attendance. This service can be purchased dependent on the frequency of visits or additional bespoke services to meet the individual requirements and concerns of a school.
We offer a range of solutions to suit your needs, from one-off bespoke packages to target a specific concern, to full support packages for schools and settings. Our Education Welfare Officers are fully qualified and highly experienced professionals who make student safety and wellbeing a priority.

Education Welfare Officer package:
An Education Welfare Officer (EWO) will be allocated to your school for support, advice and to provide targeted intervention for those families that are referred.
The EWO can offer:

Targeted intervention with families to improve attendance

Consultation meetings to refer cases

Safeguarding home visits regarding children missing from school (depending on service purchased)

Completing all legal paperwork for Court

Information, advice and guidance on attendance policies, procedures, and practices

Support and advice on coding registers

1:2:1 support with attendance lead
Information and Advice Package:
Schools can opt for advice by phone or e-mail with a response either same-day or within 24 hours with the EWT Manager or Deputy
Attendance Review Package:
Schools can purchase a one-day attendance review to either prepare for an Ofsted inspection or to gain an overview of whole school attendance practices. The review will provide data analysis, procedure recommendations, and review statutory processes are being met
Bespoke Packages:
Schools with good attendance may find themselves with a few entrenched cases or specific attendance concerns that need short intervention to resolve. Please get in contact to discuss.
