The BELS Post-16 team will be hosting the Barnet Options and Careers evening for Barnet young people at Middlesex University on Wednesday 19 October from 4:30-7:00 PM. The event is aimed at young people aged Year 9 upwards who are wanting to explore GCSE and Post-16 options available to them in Barnet.
The free event will feature a range of employers, training providers, apprenticeship providers, and colleges, as well as other teams who support young people aged 16-25 with special education needs & disabilities who want to remain in education. Planned exhibitors include representatives from the NHS, HCL Technologies (a global IT company), Lansia Ltd – McDonald’s, TJX Europe (TK Maxx), Metropolitan Police, Watford Football Club, and many more covering a wide range of career sectors. There will also be an opportunity to attend a GCSE Options Presentation and a Post-16 Options Panel Presentation; each session will include a question-and-answer session to ensure students are able to make informed decisions about their future.
There will be plenty of opportunities throughout the evening for students to ask questions and get to know more about the colleges, training providers, apprenticeship providers, and employers that interest them. Students will also have the opportunity to book in for one-to-one personal careers guidance interviews with a BELS-Inspire Careers Advisor. Scheduling a one-to-one interview with one of our Careers Advisors is a great option, regardless of a young person’s Post-16 plans: our Careers Advisors can help students determine and better understand the steps they need to take in order to achieve their goals, whether helping you refine your CV or guiding you as to which qualifications are best for you.
