We were excited to hear about and to be able to celebrate vocational student success stories from our schools.
Thank you to schools for sharing their stories with us. We look forward to working with schools this academic year and celebrating even more good news and fantastic destinations in August 2024.
Destinations amongst students who studied vocational subjects at Whitefield School include Media, Communication and Sociology at City University of London and Abdulla who achieved A in Arabic, Distinction* in Travel and Tourism, and a Distinction in ICT will be studying at the University of South Wales for a degree in Aerospace Engineering.
St James’ Catholic High School were proud to report the best vocational results they have ever achieved. They shared notable highlights including a student who will be at Leeds University studying Communication and Media having achieved DDD*, another student who achieved 2 Distinctions and one Distinction* who will be studying at Kingston University and a student who will study illustration at Bournemouth Arts College after achieving a grade B, Distinction and Distinction*.

All students have secured excellent destinations as a result of their results on BTEC courses. Mamadou will be going to Loughborough University to study Sports Psychology, Antonio will be at St Mary’s University in Twickenham to study Sports, Somersby will be at UCL studying Applied Medical Science and Adam will be at Manchester Metropolitan University studying Business Management.
Vocational success stories from Bishop Douglass Catholic School include a student who achieved Distinction Stars in PE, Business and IT and has a place at Queen Mary to study Business Management with a year in industry. Whilst Amani Mustapha from East Barnet School received a double distinction in BTEC Business and a C in A-level Fashion Textiles and will shortly be starting a Business Management degree at Leicester University.
All of the vocational successes reflect the dedication and hard work of Barnet students, their subject teachers and Sixth Form teams in our schools.
