EARLY CAREER FRAMEWORK (ECF)

Early Career Teachers

Ensuring that teachers have the tailored support they need in their first years of teaching is integral to their - and their pupils’ - success.

Barnet acts as an Appropriate Body for ECT/NQT induction. The Appropriate Body has the main quality assurance role within the induction process and ensures that schools are aware of, and can meet, the requirements for ECT/NQT Induction set out in the statutory guidance as well as ensuring that ECTs/NQTs receive the support they need to succeed in their teaching careers.

The Appropriate Body (AB) service covers:

  • Advice and guidance on-demand for induction tutors and ECTs/NQTs

  • Quality assurance of reports and induction arrangements

  • Access to ECT/NQT manager, including resources, training and support

  • Training for new and existing induction tutors

  • On-line reporting and registration via ECT/NQT manager

  • Technical support for ECT/NQT Manager

  • Regular newsletters and updates

  • Free initial visit from ECT/NQT lead adviser to new subscribers wishing to use Barnet as their Appropriate Body
